The Town of Perinton has a new Supervisor. On Wednesday, board member Ciaran Hanna was appointed by the town board to replace Mike Barker who retired last week to return to teaching full time. His term would have expired at the end of December, 2019.
Hanna was a member of the Monroe County Legislature from 2006-2013 and served in a variety of leadership roles in the county legislature, including as Chairman of the Public Safety Committee (2009-2013) and Chairman of the Human Services Committee (2006-2009).
Hanna has been president and founder of True North Packaging, Inc. in Webster since 2012.
Hanna thanked Barker for his “years of dedicated service to this community,” saying that they appreciate, “all he has given to the town and wish him the very best in his not-so-new career.”
Hanna says he will “continue to work with the town board and all of our departments to keep taxes low and provide the exceptional services our residents have enjoyed for many years.”
The town board is expected to appoint a new town board member to replace Hanna in the next few weeks.
