If you're a beer or coffee lover who has not yet received the COVID-19 vaccine, you may have a new incentive to do so.
Monroe County is partnering with five local breweries to host pop-up vaccine clinics throughout June. If you attend one of the clinics, you can walk away with a free drink voucher or a $5 gift card to Dunkin Donuts.
County Executive Adam Bello said the “Choose Your Brew” campaign is not only about receiving a vaccine, but also a way to patronize small businesses.
“Our small businesses have suffered so much during the pandemic,” Bello said. “This is a great way to get reacquainted with our local breweries, get the life-saving vaccine, and have a little fun while doing it."
This brew incentive joins the lineup of recent creative vaccination efforts the county has been making to meet residents where they are. Last week, the county partnered with Seneca Park Zoo to bring animals to the convention center site.
Dr. Nancy Bennett, co-chair of the Finger Lakes COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force, said these incentives will be key to ending the pandemic in the Finger Lakes region.
“I'm confident that if we just keep doing this, and we just keep working at it, we will get our vaccine into every arm,” Bennett said.
Here's a list of the clinic times and locations:
- 4 to 8 p.m. June 8: Genesee Brew House, 25 Cataract St.
- 3 to 7 p.m. June 10: Rohrbach Brewing Company, 3859 Buffalo Road.
- 2 to 5 p.m. June 15: Irondequoit Beer Company, 765 Titus Ave.
- Noon to 4 p.m. June 19: Lock 32 Brewing Company, 10 Schoen Place.
- 3 to 7 p.m. June 21: Three Heads Brewing, 186 Atlantic Ave.
