Seneca Park Zoo is extending the Tales of Conservation sculpture exhibit through Labor Day.
The exhibit was originally set to close on Aug. 18. It features 12 sculptures — some life-size and others larger than life — of animals that have been conservation success stories. They include animals brought back from the brink of extinction through zoo programs.
The exhibit includes climbable sculptures of a Bornean orangutan, black rhinoceros, cheetah, Panamanian golden frog, Eastern Massasauga rattlesnake, peregrine falcon, Burmese star tortoise, mudpuppy salamander, Orinoco crocodile, paddlefish, pangolin, and Puerto Rican crested toad. Each is accompanied by a story about the species and its importance.
