A few anxious moments, but no injuries when parts of a building that is under construction in Brighton collapsed late Monday morning.

Brighton Firefighters were called to the area where the old Bagel Bin, and before that the post office, had once stood, near the 12 corners area.

Fire Chief Steve MacAdam says his department was called by crews when portions of the building that were to undergo demolition anyway came down faster than expected.

When there was indication the process wasn’t going as planned, construction workers got out of the area and none of them was hurt.

Firefighters were not needed for any additional help, but officials say the town’s building department is working with the developer who plans to build a Core Life Eatery at the site.
