Rochester Crews Helping Clear Snow Return From Buffalo

http://youtu.be/dk3XJ-xC7X0

A crew of Rochester workers and their heavy equipment returned from Buffalo on Sunday. That was one of the many instances of upstate cities sending help to the region that was slammed by lake effect snow.

Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren and other city officials applauded, as the convoy of 20 trucks and personnel arrived back at the City Operations Building. They had been there since Friday morning, joining hundreds of workers from all over the state who helped people in Western New York dig out from several feet of snow.

Warren says this is the sort of thing that neighbor cities do for each other.

"We recognize and know that Buffalo would do the same for Rochester if we were in this situation and I'm excited at the fact that we were able to show our sister city some compassion at this time of Thanksgiving."

Mike Quattrone is Assistant Director of operations and parks for Rochester. He was out in Buffalo helping clear tons of snow off area streets.

As you go through your career as a public servant it's times like these that the employees really rally to get things done, did an awesome job, tremendous," Quattrone told WXXI News.

Quattrone and his crew worked 16 hour days while they were in Buffalo. Crews and equipment from Monroe County and other area communities were also in Buffalo over the weekend.
