The YMCA of Greater Rochester on Thursday will mark the groundbreaking of a 34,000 square foot addition to its Eastside Family YMCA.
Officials say that 'Y' will be the first medical and wellness complex of its kind in the Northeast and one of the largest YMCA's in the U.S. They say the expansion will allow the YMCA and local health care partner to offer an easily accessible new model of care for the entire community. It provides a number of services ranging from preventive medicine to chronic disease.
The YMCA officials say the $7 million expansion will also create new job opportunities.
