Thousands Expected For The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge

J.P. Morgan Chase

Nearly 11,000 runners and walkers are expected to take part in the annual J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge at RIT on Thursday. It's the 24th year for this event, which involves teams following a three and a half mile course around the campus.

Chairman of Northeast Middle Markets for J.P. Morgan Chase, Sandy Wolcott, says one of the big attractions of this event is that so many corporations and other organizations are participating.

"Team building among the people within the organization and there are post race festivities where people get together and start to talk to one another and they  maybe haven't seen each other all year within the corporation."

Hundreds of teams from various corporations and area organizations are participating. Some of the larger ones, like the University of Rochester, have several hundred people on their teams.

The event starts at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at RIT.  The challenge also raises money for the Hillside-Work Scholarship Connection
