Trailways Moves to New Location

A new Trailways bus station is officially open in downtown Rochester. The station temporarily moved from the former Midtown Plaza when it closed down in 2009. City officials cut the ribbon on the facility on Tuesday.

"it's a better facility, a better location. now than it was in midtown," says Rochester Mayor Tom Richard. "Once upon time, midtown was the place to be but for the last ten years it really hasn't been. this is a better location for it."

One hundred and fifty thousand passengers travel through the Trailways station on Cumberland Street each year.
The new bus terminal is temporary. That's until it can relocate to a permanent facility at the proposed intermodal high-speed rail station.
