Monroe Community Hospital

There will be new leadership soon at Monroe Community Hospital, the skilled nursing facility run by Monroe County.

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo has announced that Colleen Rose, who is currently Deputy Executive Director, will take over the leadership position after the current Executive Director, Gene Larrabee retires effective June 28.

Both Larrabee and Rose were named to their current positions in June 2013 after a nationwide search process.

Rose previously had been Director of Strategic Initiatives and Assistant Administrator for the Fairport Baptist Home.

Dinolfo says that during Larrabee’s tenure, Monroe  Community Hospital added a number of improvements including the opening of the ventilator and pediatric units, as well as improvements to the rehabilitation unit. A resident recreation center opens later this month.

Rose will assume the new job in June, pending confirmation by the Monroe County Legislature, and there will be a search for anew Deputy Executive Director.
