LISTEN: An explanation of final regulations for NYS paid family leave

As of January 1, 2018, many New Yorkers will be eligible to take paid family leave from their jobs.

Governor Cuomo has hailed the state’s newfamily leave program as one of the most comprehensive in the country.  This week, the New York Workers Compensation Board finalized the regulationsthat will govern the program.

Attorney Beth Cordello, who specializes in employment law at the Rochester firm Pullano & Farrow, PLLC, walks us through who is eligible to take paid leave, what the benefits are, how the program is paid for, and what local employers are saying about it.
