Democrats in the Monroe County Legislature has elected Cindy Kaleh as leader of their caucus. She has served in the legislature since 2008 and previously served as Assistant Minority Leader. Kaleh represents the 28th district, which includes parts of northwest Rochester.
She replaces Minority Leader Carrie Andrews, who was term-limited this year from running again.
The county legislative Democrats also named lawmakers John Lightfoot and Ernest Flagler-Mitchell to fill the Assistant Minority Leader positions being vacated.
Earlier this month, the Republican Majority announced that legislator Anthony Daniele would be the GOP nominee for Legislature President, and legislator Brian Marianetti was chosen to serve as Majority Leader.
