Some local delegates are in Charlotte, North Carolina for this week's Democratic National Convention.
That includes City Councilman Adam McFadden.
He says people are energized and happy about being able to work to get President Obama re-elected.
McFadden says the President's record has been strong, and he'd like to see the Democratic platform focus on the future, the economy, and the relation with our allies all over the world.

Another local delegate there is Monroe County Democratic Committee Chair Joe Morelle. And he says there's a lot of enthusiasm for President Barack Obama's re-election campaign.Morelle adds he's surprised Republicans have the nerve to ask the question if we're better off now than four years ago.
He says Mr. Obama worked very hard, stabilizing the nation's banking and financial systems, saved jobs in the automotive industry, sought justice with Osama bin Laden and is ending the U-S engagement in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He says Americans will see at the Convention a different approach from Democrats compared to Republicans.
