East Rochester School Supt. placed on administrative leave

East Rochester School District

The East Rochester Union Free School District Board of Education has placed Superintendent Mark Linton on administrative leave.

The board has named Richard Stutzman acting superintendent in Linton’s absence.

Stutzman is a former Batavia School Superintendent.

East Rochester school officials did not release any other information about why Linton was placed on leave. He has been superintendent since 2015.

The D&C reports that at a brief board meeting on Monday evening, the board voted to place Linton on paid leave and name Stutzman as his interim replacement. The board later went into executive session, "to review employment history of a particular person."

Other details were not released.

Before retiring in March 2025, Randy Gorbman was WXXI's director of news and public affairs and managed the day-to-day operations of WXXI News on radio, television, and online.
