The Genesee Brewery is branching out. The company is unveiling some new craft beers that will available at local pubs.
Genesee Brewing calls this project "Tap it Forward, " and it involves making small batches of some unique, craft-style beers that will only be available in this area.
Brewmaster Dean Jones says actually they've had some of these beers available before, but only at the Genesee Brew Pub, which opened a couple of years ago.
"We have done probably 63 different styles of beer since we started everything from Imperial Oatmeal Stout to espresso Porters, Ghirardelli dark chocolate porter, black IPA, Imperial Black IPA's just gone through the whole entire gamut."
But Jones says now some of these beers will now be sold at local bars and restaurants. Genesee plans to roll out a new beer every six to eight weeks.
Proceeds from the sales will be re-invested locally with the first organization to benefit, the GardenAerial FlourGarden project which involves an urban garden being planned in the Brown's Race area.
