Wegmans Wants To Expand Perinton Store

Wegmans is planning to expand its store in Perinton. The company is seeking a special use permit from the town to expand its store on Pittsford-Palmyra Road.

Plans call for a 31,300 square foot expansion on the east side of the current store, along with a complete remodeling of the existing store, including a new facade and a clock tower.

Company officials say once the expansion is complete, the Perinton store will include all of the amenities in Wegmans' newest store.  The original Perinton store opened in 1967, and a new store went up at that location in 1974 and was again remodeled in 1987.

There are still various approvals needed before the project can go forward.
