What can Rochester learn from the growth of neighborhoods in Cleveland, Ohio? Quite a bit, according to Ted Howard, the president of The Democracy Collaborative. His group helped develop a plan centered on employee-owned businesses. The goal was to create 500 jobs in the first four years, with an eye toward 5,000 jobs.
Howard is coming to Rochester to participate in the Reshaping Rochester Series, and it's good timing: the City of Rochester recently announced a partnership with Howard's group, hoping to replicate Cleveland's success. Our guests:
- Ted Howard, president and co-founder of The Democracy Collaborative
- Mo Duggan, executive director, Community Design Center of Rochester
- Maria Furgiuele, former board president and current committee member, Community Design Center of Rochester
