Officials with the Seneca Park Zoo say that if you have some time this weekend to go to the zoo, you might want to bid farewell to Roscoe the rhino. He is the zoo's 8 year old male white rhino, and he's expected to leave in mid-June to go to a wildlife conservation center in Ohio to start his own family.
The move is a breeding recommendation by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Species Survival Plan. That's a management program that works to maintain a health and sustainable population of endangered species.
"Bill," who is Roscoe's half-brother, will remain at the zoo. Roscoe came to the Seneca Park Zoo in 2006.
