The RIT campus is now home to one of the metal sculptures created by Albert Paley. The internationally known, Rochester-based sculptor recently finished an exhibition along the median on Park Avenue in New York City, with 13 sculptures on that avenue installed last June.
One of the 13, called "Cloaked Intention" is now on the newly formed quad between the Golisano Institute for Sustainability and Louise Slaughter Hall. The nearly 20 foot sculpture weighs over four tons, and the installation at RIT was made possible with the help of a gift from college trustee Ann Mulligan.
Several of the other sculptures that had been in New York City have been placed at museums around the country or sold to private collectors.
WXXI produced a six-part documentary on the Park Avenue exhibit. To view that production and learn more about the Paley on Park Avenue exhibit, visit: http://interactive.wxxi.org/paleynyc
