Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo is urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel after 7 pm Tuesday because of deteriorating road conditions and to give snow plows the opportunity to do their jobs. Motorists should use additional caution if travel is necessary on Tuesday evening until further notice.
Rates of snowfall and winds are expected to increase through the evening which would result in challenges due to blowing, drifting and whiteout conditions.
THE NO UNNECESSARY TRAVEL ADVISORY DOES NOT RESTRICT TRAVEL. It is, however, a warning to motorists that hazardous driving conditions will exist overnight.

Livingston County Sheriff Tom Dougherty issued a Travel Advisory:
The Sheriff has issued a travel advisory effective at 5pm until further notice. The highway crews have done a great job but need to rest their workers. The advisory does NOT restrict travel it only advises that caution is advised since hazardous conditions could be encountered.

Ontario County Sheriff Povero has issued a Travel Advisory for Ontario County from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Tuesday.
Beginning at 10:00 pm and lasting until 5:00 am on Wednesday Povero advises No Unnecessary Travel on Ontario County roads.
During this time period, snow is still expected to be falling, and many highway crews will be off the highway or operating with reduced forces, to enable the crews to get some needed rest.
For those motorists who decide to travel during this time period, the sheriff says they need to do so with caution, considering the changing weather and highway conditions that they will encounter.

Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts has issued a Travel Advisory to take effect at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
The Travel Advisory is in effect until 10 p.m. This travel advisory does not restrict travel. It is, however, a warning to motorists that hazardous driving conditions may exist.
At 10 p.m. this evening the Travel Advisory will be elevated to No Unnecessary Travel. No Unnecessary Travel will be in effect from 10 p.m. this evening until 5 a.m.

Hazardous driving conditions may exist overnight and No Unnecessary Travel is advised from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Wed. morning in Wayne County. For the safety of all residents, the general public is encouraged to consider the need to be on the roads during these times and to use extreme caution while traveling in or around Wayne County.
