Irondequoit Bay Outlet Bridge closes for the season on Friday

Irondequoit Bay Outlet Bridge

The Irondequoit Bay Bridge will close to vehicular traffic beginning Friday at 9am.

It’s the usual seasonal change for that bridge which will remain closed to traffic for seven months.

It is scheduled to reopen on November 1st.

Usually the move happens on April 1st, but since that date falls on a Saturday this year, the bridge is opening a day early

The swing bridge spans the outlet for vehicular traffic during the winter months, and then it is removed in time for the boating season.

The bridge crosses the outlet between Lake Road in Webster and Culver road in Irondequoit.
