Fire ripped through a Farmington hotel early Monday morning. It happened at the America's Best Value Inn on Route 96 near Route 332.
More than a dozen fire companies were called to the scene. There's no word of any serious injuries. One firefighter reportedly suffered a leg injury when he slipped on the ice. People in the hotel got out safely, but the hotel was heavily damaged and a section of Route 96 was closed for a while.
The extreme cold was a challenge, with reports of some fire hydrants being frozen, forcing firefighters to bring in extra tankers.
There's no word yet on a cause for the fire which could be seen for miles.
