A "Friendly" Competition Among Rochester's Largest Employers

Rochester's hospitals and Excellus BlueCross BlueShield are partnering with the American Heart Association to help employees get a healthy start to the New Year. 
 
The  six-week competition is called "Walking Works" and the goal is to get employers to encourage their workers to incorporate walking into their work-shifts.
 
Dr. Nancy Bennett is the Director of the Center for Community Health. She explains to WXXI's LeShea Agnew employees will earn points for their organization by walking to work, taking the steps instead of the elevator or simply going for a stroll while on break.
