Today marked the grand opening of a new 52-thousand-500 square foot Tops supermarket in Irondequoit, at the former K-Mart site in Depot Plaza.
Tops CEO Frank Curci says the company has invested 13-million in Monroe County stores, and this one serves a prototype design, with new and improved features, and a new fuel station added in June.
Town Supervisor Adam Bello says it's a good day for Irondequoit, and Depot Plaza is helping transform East Ridge Road, where there is plenty of new investment up and down the street.
He adds there is so much happening in Irondequoit that the town shouldn't be defined by the Medley Centre.
He says the new Tops store is changing the way people feel about Irondequoit and economic development.
