There’s word now about one of the two companies that will help fill space formerly occupied by General Motors in Honeoye Falls.
Han-Tek, a Victor-based company that specializes in products like overhead cranes, robotics and conveyors will be moving operations to Honeoye Falls.
In the process, Han-Tek expects to not only bring over their current employee base (which is about 60) but add 20-30 new jobs. It’s part of their need for a larger manufacturing space.
The property on Carriage Street in Honeoye Falls has been vacant for the last several years after GM moved its fuel cell plant to another facility in Michigan.
Han-Tek CEO Patrick Tobin told WXXI News that his workers enjoyed the more than 20 years they spent working in Victor, but it was mainly an issue of needing more space.
“We’re growing too quickly to be able to sustain it in this space and we needed another place to put heads; we’ve added 36 people in the last 12 months," Tobin said.
Village Mayor Rick Milne says that Han-Tek is one of two new businesses that will be moving to that space, and that will bring more than 100 jobs to Honeoye Falls. The other company’s plans have not been announced yet.
