Batavia dairy cooperative adding jobs

A Genesee County-based dairy cooperative is adding jobs.

O-AT-KA Milk Products Cooperative in Batavia is building a more than 20,000 square foot addition at its production facility.

The cooperative is installing a new beverage production line and putting in new equipment. Officials with Empire State Development say the additional space will help with the addition of up to 20 new jobs; 440 others will be retained.

The cooperative expects to have the line running sometime next fall.   Empire State Development is providing a total of up to $750,000 for the project through a Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development grant.

Genesee County Economic Development is also offering incentives. The total project cost is $34.5 million.
