Connecting Troops With Their Loved Ones Back Home This Christmas

An organization dedicated to connecting our troops with their families back home is sending out hundreds of holiday gift boxes again this year.

Full Circle Home's mission is to make sure gifts from troops deployed overseas get home to their loved ones, according to co-founder Lisa Miller.

"They can write a note, a handwritten love note that's the first gift in the box and then we assemble 12 beautiful gifts all beautifully wrapped. And they get shipped to a very surprised and delighted wife, mom, sister, girlfriend, whoever."

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand helped out members of the Delta Gamma sorority from the University of Rochester and other volunteers wrap gifts and pack gift boxes during a visit to Rochester Friday.

"They send out hundreds of packages every holiday season, so that a mom can open a package from her son who's deployed in South Korea, and have a really special moment, to be appreciative of her son and the sacrifice he's making, but also get a little bit of a thank you to her."

Full Circle Home has helped some 15 thousand troops send their holiday gifts and love back home.
