After 'Zoom bombing,' RCSD parent forum will be held on Youtube

The Rochester City School District is forging ahead with a second parent forum after the first meeting abruptly ended shortly after it began on Saturday due to a slew of racist and obscene comments and graffiti. However, this next meeting will be a bit different.

In a Facebook post on Monday, the district said that they will conduct the second of five meetings on Youtube. The meeting will take place at 10:00am on Tuesday. Questions can only be submitted by email to reopening@rcsdk12.org either ahead of time or during the meeting.

A total of five parent forums are required by New York state by August 21st to ensure that school districts are talking with parents and stakeholders about their reopening plans.

Governor Andrew Cuomo has permitted school districts to hold in-class instruction. However many districts are expected to use a hybrid plan involving a mix of in-class and remote learning. RCSD has elected to conduct lessons remotely for at least the first ten weeks of the school year. More information can be found at the school’s reopening webpage.
