New Supt. chosen for Canandaigua School District

The Canandaigua School District has chosen its next superintendent.

Jamie Farr  is currently the superintendent of the Phelps-Clifton Springs (Midlakes ) School District. He will replace Lynne Erdle, when she retires from the district in June.

Farr spent his entire educational career in the Midlakes district, starting out as a health teacher in 1999, then becoming a dean, an assistant principal, a principal and he was appointed superintendent in 2014.

Farr was chosen after the Board had decided to continue its search process following interviews with three previous finalists for the position.

Although he was  contacted last fall about the Canandaigua position, Farr originally said that the timing wasn’t right at that time.

But after the March announcement that the Canandaigua search would be continued, he agreed to enter the interview process after the Canandaigua Board again expressed interest.

Phelps-Clifton Springs has begun the search process for a new superintendent. Patti Larche has been named interim superintendent there.
