Xerox is selling part of its research and development operation in Oregon. The company is selling its product design, engineering and chemistry group in Wilsonville, Oregon to a South Carolina based company called 3D Systems for 32 and a half million dollars.
As part of the deal, 3D expects to add more than 100 Xerox engineers and contractors, and it will immediately begin to operate its own facility on the Xerox campus in Oregon.
A Xerox official says this deal will expand its relationship with the South Carolina company in the 3-D printing industry.
