Full Video of RDDC Economic Development Event

The co-chairs of the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council put a happy face on disappointing results.

Speaking at a luncheon hosted by the Rochester Downtown Development Corporation Thursday, U of R president Joel Seligman and Wegmans CEO Danny Wegman defended the $68 million the region was awarded last December.

The top four regions, including Buffalo and Syracuse, took home more than $100 million each.

Joel Seligman says the economic development money won by the Finger Lakes is far from "pocket change."

Seligman says he and Wegman are eager for the second round of the regional council initiative.

He says there's no firm timeline for when the panel will meet next.

The Rochester Downtown Development Corporation and Building Owners and Managers Association-International presented the event "A Report to the Community."

The panel discussion was led by WXXI's Julie Philipp and Tom Tobin of the Democrat and Chronicle on January 26, 2012 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. Click on the video box below to watch the event.
