Second hour: Music teachers on challenges they've faced during the pandemicCollege students are back on campus for another academic year in the pandemic. We talk with representatives from three local colleges about how they are handling pandemic safety. Our guests:

  • Beth Paul, president of Nazareth College
  • Andrea C. Wade, provost and vice president of academic services at MCC
  • Heidi Macpherson, president of SUNY Brockport

Then in our second hour, we're joined by local music teachers who share how their work has changed during the pandemic. From voice lessons, to teaching students to play instruments, to music theory, teachers have faced challenges. We hear how they've adapted. Our guests:

  • Rachel Dobbs, music educator at the George Mather Forbes School #4 in the Rochester City School District
  • Lisa Miller, chair of the Music Department, and vocal director for grades 5-12 at the Sodus Central School District
Evan Dawson is the host of "Connections with Evan Dawson." He joined WXXI in January 2014 after working at 13WHAM-TV, where he served as morning news anchor. He was hired as a reporter for 13WHAM-TV in 2003 before being promoted to anchor in 2007.
