Fieldtex Products plans to expand operations

Fieldtex Products has outgrown its current space in Henrietta and will move its operations, according to Empire State Development.

The company, which makes soft-sided bags, will acquire a 129,000-square-foot building at 2921 Brighton-Henrietta Townline Road that is currently owned by Alleson Athletics.

Empire State Development said Alleson, a sports gear company, is reducing its workforce at that location, and Fieldtex hopes to employ some of those displaced workers.

Plans call for the expansion project to be completed in the first quarter of 2020. Fieldtex is planning to hire up to 51 new employees over the next five years, and 205 jobs will be retained.

Empire State Development said it will provide up to $500,000 through the Excelsior Jobs Program in exchange for job creation commitments. Monroe County and Greater Rochester Enterprise are also assisting with the project.

The total cost of the expansion has been placed at $6.5 million.

Fieldtex, a family-owned business, makes soft-sided cases, bags and harnesses for military, health, school and sports markets. It also assembles first-aid kits and administers Medicare Part C, OTC drug fulfillment programs, the state said.
