Rochester Fire Dept. To Receive $328,000 In Federal Funds

Provided

The Rochester Fire Department will receive just over $328,000 in federal funding to purchase  state-of-the-art training equipment.

That according to Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand who say the money comes from the Department of Homeland Security.

Fire Chief John Schreiber says the funds will be used to buy equipment that will help simulate situations they might come across while on the job.

The program will eventually also be used to benefit fire departments throughout the region.
