Congresswoman Louise Slaughter is now on a cereal box. Actually, it's a commemorative box of Wheaties, which Slaughter and 27 other members of Congress received for their support for federal funding for scientific research.
A group called 'The Science Coalition,' which is a non-partisan organization representing research universities, honored the more than two dozen representatives at they called a "Breakfast of Champions' for their support of science funding. The members of Congress were awarded the coalition's "Champion of Science Award."
Each member got a Wheaties box, produced by General Mills. It is only a commemorative box, and you can't buy it in the supermarket.
