The Department of Motor Vehicles office in Irondequoit that’s operated by Monroe County will be closed next week for renovations.
That’s according to an announcement made Friday by County Clerk Adam Bellow, who says that the DMV office on Titus Avenue in Irondequoit will be closed from Monday, April 22 through Friday, April 26.
Bello says that office is in the midst of a “significant refresh” that he says should greatly improve the experience for both customers and staff.
He says the county is replacing damaged flooring and improving the lighting, among other projects. Bello says the owner of the building and his contractors have been very flexible about doing as much work as possible around the existing operations, but officials determined that for safety and cost reasons, a short closure before the busy summer months is the best way to complete the work.
During the closure, Irondequoit DMV staff will be redirected to the Greece and Henrietta offices, along with the eastside and metro mobile units. Additional appointment slots will be offered at the Greece and Henrietta DMV officers to help with the expected increase in customer visits.
