Gates Chili names a new school superintendent

Gates Chili School District

The Gates Chili School District has named its next superintendent. The school board has selected Christopher Dailey for that position. He will be formally appointed April 9.

Daily is currently the superintendent of the Batavia City School District. Previous positions included serving as an assistant principal at Churchville-Chili Senior High School and high school principal in Batavia.  He took over as superintendent in Batavia in 2013.

Dailey will begin his new role in Gates Chili on July 1 pending contract negotiations.  He replaces Kimberle Ward, who was put on administrative leave last December, with that leave to last through June 30, 2019, the time when she had previously said she would retire.

After Ward left, Carol Stehm was appointed interim superintendent.

Before retiring in March 2025, Randy Gorbman was WXXI's director of news and public affairs and managed the day-to-day operations of WXXI News on radio, television, and online.
