It was a tough start to the week for many air travelers as thousands of air traffic controllers were forced to take an upaid day off because of federal budget cuts.
But it was business as usual at Rochester's airport.
Jennifer Hanrihan, the marketing and public relations coordinator at the Greater Rochester International Airport, says the furloughs have had no impact at this time.
While a few flights from New York's LaGuardia were delayed or even cancelled, Hanrahan says she's not aware if that was related to the furloughs.
Flight tracking service FlightAware said one in every five flights out of LaGuardia scheduled to take off before noon today was delayed 15 minutes or more.
Even with no impact on travel out of Rochester, Hanrahan says travelers should plan ahead, starting by arriving 90 minutes before your flight leaves.
As of 3:45 pm, a few flights in and out of the New York City area were delayed.
