Monroe County Clerk Adam Bello, a Democratic candidate for county executive, has announced a plan to combat climate change in the county.

Bello said Tuesday that the six-part plan would be a pillar of his administration if elected. It includes a Climate Action Board, something of an Environmental Management Council revival.

Just like outgoing Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks, Cheryl Dinolfo (R-Irondequoit) will move from the county clerk’s office to the county executive’s office. Dinolfo defeated former Brighton Supervisor Sandy Frankel (D-Brighton) and Rajesh Barnabas (G-Brighton).

Dinolfo has been county clerk since 2004, when she was appointed to the position by then Governor George Pataki when Maggie Brooks was elected to her first term as Monroe County Executive.

We sit down with Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo, the Republican candidate for Monroe County Executive. She's running to take the seat of the outgoing Maggie Brooks. She's being challenged by Democrat Sandy Frankel, who joined us on the show two weeks ago.

This fall, Monroe County will elect its first new County Executive in 12 years. We expect to host the candidates several times in the months leading up to the election. First up: the Democratic candidate, Sandra Frankel.
