The winter storm warning is over, but now the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisoryfor Monroe County from 9pm Tuesday to 7am Wednesday. There is the possibility of 3 - 5 inches of snow in persistent snow bands.
As of 7am Tuesday, the National Weather Service recorded nearly 11 inches of snow at the Rochester Airport, but only about 3.5 inches in Geneva. Most of the heavier amounts were to the north and west.
News 8 Meterologist Josh Nichols says the amount of snow that fell on Monday, just over 5 inches, did break a record for that date.
Temperatures will be below normal for much of the week, with wind chills in the teens or lower, at times.
Some flights at the Greater Rochester International Airport were canceled or delayed early Tuesday morning. As always with storms like this, officials advise you check ahead before heading out to the airport.
In the City of Rochester, Director of Operations Karen St. Aubin says it's good that the bulk of the snow fell overnight, making it easier for the plow trucks to get through the streets.
St. Aubin says it will help city plow crews if you make sure to follow alternate side of the street parking regulations so that they can clear the streets.
There were not many school delays or closings on Tuesday. Most larger districts are open as usual including the City of Rochester.
