Ted Scardino, one of the firefighters injured in the Christmas Eve ambush on Lake Road in Webster, will be on Capitol Hill today, testifying before the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force.
Scardino, according to a release by Congresswoman Louise Slaughter, will give testimony on the Webster shooting, as well as his support for The Gun Trafficking Prevention Act. The measure would impose stiffer penalties on "straw purchasers," those who buy guns for convicted felons and others who are prohibited from doing so on their own. The legislation would also make firearms trafficking a federal crime.
