provided

The Urban League of Rochester has named a new leader.  Seanelle Hawkins will be taking over as President and CEO on June 3.

Hawkins will be replacing Bill Clark, who has been with the organization for 38 years, the last 25 as CEO.

Hawkins most recently served as Executive Director, Sojourner House at PathStone and Wilson Commencement Park.

Officials say she will be the Urban League’s first female president.

A statement from the Urban League says that Hawkins will “help continue our mission to assist African-Americans, Latinos, the poor and other disadvantaged to secure economic self-reliance, parity and power and civil rights.”

The Urban League says that Hawkins "experience coupled with her passion will continue to lead ULR to new levels."
