Two local capital projects approved by school district voters

Two area school districts approved  capital projects on Tuesday.

In Webster, a $69.5 million project was approved by a 68 to 32 percent margin. The vote was 1,595 to 763.

The project includes state-of-the-art media centers at all elementary schools, renovations to the technology education wing at Webster Thomas High School and improvements to playing fields at both high schools. The transportation center will also see improvements.

Officials say the impact on the average homeowner will be about $25 per year over 15 years.

In Churchville Chili, voters in that school district approved an elementary schools’ renovations and playgrounds capital project by a 322 to 84 vote.  Officials say that  $3.9 million project will not add to the local tax share.
