SUNY Geneseo Students Stage Sit-In

Geneseo, NY – SUNY Geneseo students are fired up, and speaking out against academic program cuts at the college.
Nearly one hundred students Monday sat-in at Erwin Hall - - the administration building on campus - chanting "save our programs".
The demonstration is in response to the school no longer enrolling students in the computer science, communicative disorders and sciences and studio arts programs for the next three years.
Sophomore Yael Massen is majoring in psychology.
She says she's upset over student's not having a say in program cuts, and cutting the speech pathology program will have a negative impact on the community.
The college president Christopher Dahl announced eliminating over 50 jobs - which includes 9 faculty positions - - and programs last Thursday.
The day-long protest started around 8 Monday morning.
Students started a Facebook group, which initiated the sit in.
