St. John Fisher college campus plans to reopen in the fall.

St. John Fisher College has joined the list of colleges and universities moving to online teaching, at least temporarily.

College president Gerard Rooney says there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus at the school right now, but “in an abundance of caution,” they will temporarily transition all academic instruction online beginning Monday, March 23.

The College remains open, and will continue business operations with some modifications:

  • During the transition to online instruction, classes will be suspended from Friday, March 13 through Sunday, March 22.  Classes will resume in an online format on Monday, March 23.  Thursday, March 12) will be the last day of on-ground classes.
  • At this time, nursing clinical placements, pharmacy rotations, field experiences, and student teaching will continue.
  • Residence halls will close at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 14 and will remain closed during online instruction.
  •  All College activities and events, both on and off-campus, are suspended until further notice.
  • In the spirit of social distancing, officials encourage virtual business meetings or limiting meetings on campus to fewer than 25 people.
  • The College’s quarantine policy, as well as international/domestic travel and communal food policies, remain intact.
