Rochester NY – Governor George Pataki, and United States Senator Charles Schumer will be in Rochester on Monday, January 22nd, to announce plans for a new optics research facility. Government leaders have been working with Eastman Kodak, Xerox, and Corning on such a project. The idea behind this new optics research facility is to create more high-tech jobs. And boost upstate's economy.Scheduled to join Schumer and Pataki in making the announcement will be Rochester Mayor William Johnson. Monroe County Executive Jack Doyle. Congressional representative Louise Slaughter. And representatives from Kodak, Xerox, and Corning.
