A shooting on Rochester's northeast side late Thursday afternoon injured a city police officer, and two other people, including a suspect police were seeking.

Officers were in pursuit of a suspect in a double homicide that happened outside a nightclub earlier this week. The shots fired on Thursday happened near North Goodman and Yates Streets, not far from Norton Street.

Chief Jim Sheppard says the officer who was shot was taken to Rochester General Hospital, and he is expected to be ok. The suspect was also shot and another person, driving in the area at the time was also shot, but the extent of their injuries were not immediately available.

The area near Goodman and Norton was cordoned off for several blocks late Thursday afternoon.

The double homicide happened Monday outside a nightclub on Central Avenue. Other details of the shootings were expected to be released Thursday night.
