Rochester Plant Closing To Result In 92 Jobs Being Cut

The closing of a company in Rochester that makes bakery products will result in 92 positions being eliminated. Rich Products, which is based in Buffalo, has told the New York State Labor Department that it plans to close a plant on White Street in Rochester by early October.

Rich Products acquired that plant last year when it bought a California company that makes pizza crust, flatbread and pita bread.

A spokesman for Rich tells the Democrat and Chronicle that much of the work done at the Rochester plant is being sent to a new production facility outside Chicago.

Workers from Rochester will be offered severance packages and the possibility of jobs at other Rich locations.
