Rochester Fringe Festival Announces Headlining Acts

Comedian Patton Oswalt, the Harlem Gospel Choir and Project Bandaloop are among the top acts for Rochester’s first Fringe Festival.

The event includes 180 performances taking place at 21 venues in downtown Rochester. Local talent will have a chance to showcase their work through music, dance, comedy and film.

Local artist Ed Popil says he's anticipating the festival, "Fringe Festivals are huge in other cities, and it's actually surprising that we haven't had them here, given so much art that there is and theatre and dance in the Rochester area. So I think that it's going to be well received and I think this is the beginning of a really great thing."

The Fringe Festival site has more information on the event which kicks off on September 19th and runs until the 23rd. First Niagara is sponsoring the event and WXXI is a media partner.
