Power restoration continues throughout Western New York and the Finger Lakes after a New Year’s windstorm that brought gusts of more than 60 mph.

At one point, RG&E had more than 11,000 customers without power in its service territory, and about 9,400 of those were in Monroe County.

By early Wednesday morning, RG&E listed around 300 customers without electricity and about 268 of those were in Monroe County.

NYSEG and National Grid also had scattered outages throughout the region. Most customers were back on line by late Tuesday night.

AVANGRID, the parent company for RG&E and NYSEG, says that it had reports of more than 230 downed wires and 30 broken poles. The utility anticipates  100% of its customers will be restored by 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The company says it brought in crews from around the state to help work on the affected areas.

National Grid  continues its restoration efforts as well.
