AVANGRID,  the parent company of RG&E and NYSEG, says its crews continue to work on clearing and repairing downed utility poles and wires.

By late Sunday afternoon, more than 6,000 RG&E customers had lost power; that number has been fluctuating and by early Monday morning, about 3,300 RG&E customers in Monroe County were without power, and about 400 customers in Wayne County.

The utilities say that more than 2,500 support personnel have responded, and RG&E and NYSEG also got help from around the Northeast and Canada. Company personnel are also staffing the Monroe County Emergency Operation Center. Dry ice vendors were also notified about initial plans for distribution in the area.

Once any information is posted, customers can look for locations at rge.com or nyseg.com, click on the Outage page and then click on ‘Outage Resources.’

National Grid had about 2,000 customers impacted in Orleans County as of early Monday, about 1,600 in Genesee County, and nearly 450 customers in Monroe.

National Grid says it has increased staffing to include more than 3,250 line, service, tree, damage assessment and public safety workers.

To report an outage, contact RG&E at 1-800-743-1701, or NYSEG at 1-800-572-1131
